I am thrilled to present my latest DJ mix to you! This blend of hypnotic deep techno and gritty fast groove techno was performed live at the legendary Pilar Club in Brussels and simultaneously in virtual reality at the 1Q84 Club. It was an incredibly exciting night that blurred the lines between reality and virtuality, creating a completely new dimension of clubbing.
The evening was a collaboration with the fantastic GIFKIKKER collective, a Brussels-based label and collective known for its unique blend of naturalistic and urban-inspired atmospheres. GIFKIKKER is an audiovisual collective that focuses on electronic music, ranging from EBM to hypnotic techno and similar genres. Their events are narrative-driven and provide a platform for young artists in and around Brussels and Belgium to experiment freely.
A night with GIFKIKKER is not just a musical journey but a complete audiovisual experience. The symbiosis of lineup, scenography, visuals, and light art creates an unparalleled atmosphere that transports the audience to another world. I was particularly impressed by the AI-generated visuals displayed live on old CRT televisions. These unique visual effects intensified the experience and perfectly complemented the music.
The mix itself is a journey through various moods and soundscapes, reflecting both the intensity of the physical club and the limitless possibilities of virtual reality.
