the story behind my New Album

After working with and researching techno, dubstep, and many sound design-heavy genres for a long time, I gradually drifted into ambient . Life around me became increasingly louder and fuller, and living in Berlin didn't help with that. When I turned 30, something triggered a complete 180-degree turn in me. I began seeking calmness and started to truly appreciate ambient for the first time, developing my own taste within it.

After creating many ambient tracks and performing entire live acts in this genre, I finally knew exactly what sound I wanted to create.

When I had the opportunity to visit Chile, my girlfriend's homeland, and meet her family and explore South America for the first time, I found myself embraced by a warm, benevolent family and surrounded by landscapes I had never before seen or felt. The warmth of this family and the love that Pascale gave me were feelings I had never experienced before. I realized that I wanted to reflect these emotions in my music—I was searching for sounds that created a warm yet dreamy atmosphere, very close to reality but far from the familiar. It was particularly important that this would be the opposite of my darker techno side.

When I was in San Pedro in the middle of the desert and noticed how silence could sound, I knew I needed to record all the atmospheres in Chile that meant something to me.

I recorded with a binaural microphone:

  • The silence in the desert
  • Waiting for a whale
  • Soft conversations with Pascale
  • Atmospheres in Santiago
  • The rain at my favorite spot by the window

The tracks were made with the Torso S-4 and Ableton Live after I had gathered all the atmospheres and processed the feelings that inspired this album.

It might be a bit sentimental, but this album is about love—the feeling of being able to rely on someone and being warmly and kindly received by strangers. The silence that can show you inner peace and dreams that you can achieve together. "House on the Water" is one of those dreams I've set for myself in life, which is why this track is different from the rest, as this goal lies in the future. But here and now, I find myself with peace, a purpose, and much love in my heart after a long, stressful period that taught me a lot but also cost me a lot of energy.

The last track reflects how I feel when I look into my future and begin to dream about how everything will feel. It contains a poem about gardening that mirrors life, showing that you must plan for time as things don't happen easily or quickly—you have to grow with them to understand and feel them.

Love is more than just a feeling; it's a philosophy that I believe in and fight for—for my friends, my family, and my dreams.

My new album drops on all platforms on March 14th, 2025!
