Simplicity is needed in these times. Dununba is four tracks of straight techno at 140 BPM. No big statement and no concept to decode. A kick, a groove and a few sounds that keep turning. A note on the titles. Dununba, Sangban and Kenkeni are the Malinké names of the three bass drums played in the Hamana region of Guinea. Takosaba is one of the rhythms played on them. I make techno with machines and I do not play that music. Nothing on this record is sampled or copied from it. The titles are a thank you to the film Foli, which reminded me why I make rhythm at all. 4 tracks, 24 bit WAV, cover included.
